Miami - Sprint

After a shakeup in order provided by the sprint qualifying, Lando Norris found himself with a decided advantage heading into the short race. The question then was whether he would be able to keep the lead with Oscar Piastri, Kimi Antonelli, and Charles Leclerc lurking behind him.

Nico Hulkenberg and Arvid Lindblad did not participate in the spring, but all the other drivers lined up on the starting grid. Most of them, save for a few outliers towards the back of the grid, chose to do so on the medium tires. The 19-lap long race began with a terrible start for Antonelli, who immediately fell behind both Piastri and Leclerc. His teammate, on the other hand, managed to overtake Max Verstappen, putting the two Mercedes side by side.

The young Italian immediately began chasing Leclerc for P3. His attempts were acknowledged by the Monegasque, who used his radio to relate that "Kimi is so bad in wheel-to-wheel". Despite Antonelli's efforts, he couldn't move past the Ferrari and soon had to shift his focus to defending rather than attacking, as George Russell was eager to improve. The Brit managed to overtake his teammate on lap 7, but lost the position a lap later.

At the same time, Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton battled for position right behind them. The Ferrari driver found himself in the front, but was overtaken by his rival around lap eight. He quickly reported that the move was performed off track, prompting Verstappen to give back the position. It didn't take long for the Red Bull to find a legal way past.

The fights cooled down towards the end of the race. For a while, the fans waited to see if Leclerc, who had been slowly getting closer to Piastri throughout the course of the race, would be able to move into P2, but a mistake on the penultimate lap cost him the chance of improving. Norris, who had been unbothered during the sprint, crossed the finish line first, with Piastri and Leclerc right behind him. Antonelli finished fourth, but a 5-second penalty applied for continuously exceeding track limits pushed him to P6, behind Russell and Verstappen. Gabriel Bortoleto finished the race 11th, but was disqualified for a technical breach.
